School of Music

South China Normal University, the predecessor of the Academy of Music was founded in 1988 in the art of music professional, the establishment of the Music Department in 1990, in January 2005 the establishment of Music. Successively twice in 1992 and 1996 by the Ministry of Education designated as the National Professional Teachers music education reform pilot, Obtain Guangdong only musicology master's degree authorize, order at that time 1995; Confirmed as teachers' training base of national art by Ministry of Education in 2001.
 College of Music divide into 'Three departments、one Department、Institute', that is, the Department of Education music, and Music professional and dance department and basic theory department, music research institute. There is musicology one master station now. At present 73 staff, 59 full-time teachers (including 17 professors, 15 associate professors, 17 lecturers, the doctor is 2, the master is 24, Master degree candidate's tutor is 20 ). It is one that has echelon's level and teaching body full of vigor. There are 691 full-time undergraduates now in the whole institute, Master degree candidate is 63, has already taken shape multi-levelly, multi-channel scale of the student body. The institute has more than 19000 square meters of teaching area, teaching is with beautiful environment, teaching facilities are first-class, Strong contingent of teachers. It has already been that the scale has been great in Guangdong and even similar universities and colleges of South China at present, the level is high, music personnel training base with good reputation
